Celebrate Bathukamma with TAGH in Houston

TAGH’s event announcement welcomes families and friends for floral arrangements, traditional songs, folk dancing, cultural performances, food, and festive activities. It is a chance to share Telangana heritage with the next generation and spend an evening with the wider community.

For families coming from Katy, Fulshear, Cypress, Sugar Land, and across Greater Houston, a community festival can make a familiar tradition feel close to home. Children can see the flowers, hear Telugu songs, and experience the celebration alongside parents and grandparents.

What makes Bathukamma special?

Bathukamma is one of Telangana’s most cherished floral festivals. Women arrange seasonal flowers in layered stacks and gather around them in circles, singing together. The festival celebrates nature, womanhood, and cultural identity.

Telangana Tourism describes flowers arranged in circular rows of alternating colors, followed by singing and a shared circle of celebration. That combination of natural beauty and participation is what makes Bathukamma so meaningful: the flowers are at the heart of a tradition people create together.

In Houston, celebrating Bathukamma offers families a way to carry that tradition forward. Explaining a song or arranging a layer of flowers with a child can become a small memory that lasts long after the festival.

Bathukamma décor in Houston: culture comes first

At Decor by Srav, we are excited to contribute to TAGH’s 2026 celebration through décor. We look forward to sharing our work on Instagram as the event comes together.

For anyone planning a Bathukamma-themed gathering, start with the tradition itself. The floral arrangement and the space around it deserve attention before adding a backdrop or a photo area. Here are a few ideas to discuss with your décor team:

• A joyful palette: choose complementary pink, orange, yellow, and green accents that let the flowers stand out.
• Room to celebrate: leave a clear area for gathering and movement around the Bathukamma arrangements.
• A welcoming photo corner: place it away from the main celebration space so families can take pictures comfortably.
• Thoughtful cultural details: Telugu lettering and floral motifs can make the setting personal without overwhelming it.

Use these ideas as starting points when planning your own gathering. Each design should suit its venue, community, and celebration.
